Terms of Service & Grooming Policies

Welcome to Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa. These Terms of Service & Grooming Policies explain the rules, responsibilities, and customer agreements that apply when you use our website, book an appointment, submit a form, communicate with us, or purchase grooming services.

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa provides pet grooming and related care services. Services may include bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding, sanitary trims, specialty shampoos, flea/tick-related services, and other pet grooming and boarding services.

Service availability depends on the pet’s breed, size, age, coat condition, temperament, health condition, service history, and the groomer’s professional judgment.

We reserve the right to modify, delay, stop, or refuse service if we believe continuing service would create a safety risk for the pet, customer, staff, or business.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate information before service begins. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Pet name
  • Breed
  • Age
  • Weight or approximate size
  • Known health problems
  • Allergies
  • Skin conditions
  • Medications
  • Prior injuries
  • Behavior concerns
  • Bite history
  • Grooming history
  • Vaccination status, if requested
  • Requested grooming services

Failure to disclose important health, behavior, or coat condition information may increase risk to the pet and may result in service being stopped, modified, or refused.

Appointment Booking

Appointments may be booked online, by phone, by text message, through social media, or in person.

An appointment is not guaranteed until confirmed by Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa.

We may contact customers before or after booking to confirm appointment details, pet information, pricing, arrival time, pickup time, and service expectations.

Pricing and Estimates

Any prices listed online, over the phone, by text, or on social media are estimates unless clearly stated otherwise. Final pricing may change based on:

  • Pet size
  • Breed
  • Coat length
  • Coat condition
  • Matting
  • Shedding level
  • Temperament
  • Time required
  • Specialty services
  • Add-on services
  • Extra handling needs

Additional fees may apply for matted coats, excessive shedding, flea/tick issues, difficult behavior, late pickup, missed appointments, or extra time required to complete services safely.

Payment Policy

Payment is due when services are completed unless another arrangement has been approved in advance.

Accepted payment methods may include cash, credit card, debit card, online payment, or other approved payment methods.

Returned payments, failed payments, chargebacks, or unpaid balances may result in refusal of future service until the account is paid in full.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Customers should provide at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.

Late cancellations, repeated cancellations, or missed appointments may result in a deposit requirement before future appointments are accepted.

A no-show occurs when a customer does not arrive for a scheduled appointment and does not contact us before the appointment time.

Repeated no-shows may result in refusal of future service.

Late Arrival Policy

Customers are expected to arrive on time.

If a customer arrives late, the appointment may need to be shortened, rescheduled, or canceled depending on the grooming schedule and the services needed.

Repeated late arrivals may result in deposit requirements or refusal of future service.

Pickup Policy

Customers are expected to pick up pets promptly after being notified that grooming is complete.

Pets left for extended periods may be subject to additional care or boarding fees.

Grooming appointment times are not intended for all-day pet care unless specifically agreed in advance.

Pet Health and Safety

Pet grooming involves handling, water, dryers, shampoos, conditioners, brushes, clippers, scissors, grooming tables, restraint methods, and close physical contact.

Even with proper care, grooming carries some risk. Possible risks may include stress, skin irritation, minor cuts, clipper irritation, allergic reactions, ear irritation, nail bleeding, discovery of hidden injuries, or worsening of pre-existing conditions.

Customers agree to inform Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa of any known medical concern before grooming begins. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Seizures
  • Heart problems
  • Breathing problems
  • Arthritis
  • Joint pain
  • Skin conditions
  • Allergies
  • Pregnancy
  • Recent surgery
  • Anxiety
  • Aggression
  • Prior grooming problems
  • Medication use

If a pet shows signs of distress, pain, illness, aggression, or unsafe behavior, we may stop the service immediately.

Senior Pets and Pets With Medical Conditions

Senior pets and pets with medical conditions may have increased grooming risk.

Grooming may expose or worsen health issues that were already present, including skin conditions, breathing problems, heart problems, joint pain, weakness, anxiety, or stress-related symptoms.

We may recommend shorter appointments, modified services, partial grooming, or veterinary approval before grooming.

By booking service, the customer confirms that the pet is healthy enough to be groomed unless specific concerns have been disclosed.

Matting Policy

Matted coats are a health and safety concern.

Mats can pull on the skin, cause pain, hide sores, trap moisture, restrict movement, and make grooming more difficult.

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa will not perform painful or unsafe de-matting just to preserve coat length.

If a pet is severely matted, shaving may be the safest option. The final haircut may be shorter than the customer prefers.

Mat removal may reveal skin irritation, sores, bruising, parasites, wounds, or other hidden conditions.

Additional fees may apply for matted pets because of extra time, tool wear, and safety risk.

Shaving and Coat Condition

If shaving is required due to matting, coat damage, skin condition, or safety concerns, the customer understands that the coat may not look even or styled as expected. Possible results after shaving may include:

  • Uneven coat appearance
  • Skin redness
  • Irritation
  • Sun sensitivity
  • Temporary itching
  • Discovery of hidden wounds or sores
  • Changes in coat texture or regrowth

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa is not responsible for coat damage, skin issues, or health concerns caused by pre-existing matting, poor coat condition, or undisclosed conditions.

Aggressive or Difficult Pets

Customers must disclose any history of biting, snapping, growling, panic, aggression, or unsafe behavior.

We may use reasonable safety methods, including modified handling, shorter grooming sessions, muzzles, or stopping service.

If a pet becomes unsafe to handle, Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa may refuse or stop service.

If a pet bites or injures staff, another animal, or another customer, the pet owner may be responsible for related costs where allowed by law.

Fleas, Ticks, and Parasites

If fleas, ticks, or other parasites are found, Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa may stop service, provide treatment if available, require immediate pickup, or apply additional cleaning or sanitation fees.

Customers are responsible for keeping pets protected from fleas, ticks, and other parasites.

Vaccination Policy

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa may require proof of current rabies vaccination before providing grooming services. Under Tennessee law, dogs and cats are required to be vaccinated against rabies as applicable by age and vaccination schedule. Proof of vaccination must come from a licensed veterinarian and must show that the pet’s rabies vaccination is current.

We reserve the right to refuse service if vaccination information is missing, expired, incomplete, or cannot be verified. Additional vaccination requirements may apply based on local rules, business safety policies, insurance requirements, or the type of service requested.

Emergency Care Authorization

If a pet becomes sick, injured, or shows signs of medical distress while in our care, Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa will attempt to contact the customer.

If the customer cannot be reached and we believe emergency care is needed, the customer authorizes Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa to seek veterinary care for the pet.

The customer is responsible for veterinary costs unless otherwise required by law.

Customer Satisfaction

Customer satisfaction is important to us.

If you are not satisfied with a grooming service, please contact us within 24 hours of pickup.

When appropriate, we may offer a reasonable touch-up or correction.

We may decline corrections when the concern is caused by matting, coat condition, pet behavior, customer instructions, health limitations, missed maintenance, or services requested outside what can be safely performed.

Photos and Videos

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa may take photos or videos of pets before, during, or after grooming for business records, safety documentation, marketing, social media, website content, or promotional use.

Customers who do not want their pet photographed or posted publicly should notify us in writing before service begins.

Personal Items

Customers should avoid leaving expensive collars, leashes, clothing, toys, accessories, or personal items with their pet unless necessary.

Alamo Pet Grooming and Spa is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items unless required by law.

Website Use

Customers agree not to misuse the website, submit false information, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with website operation, or use the website for unlawful purposes.

Refusal of Service
